Groundfishing

While cod have plummeted to perilously low numbers, due largely to commercial over-fishing, there is one bright spot in New England groundfishing. A side effect of conservation measured directed primarily at cod, haddock stocks have soared in recent years, and recreational fishermen are reaping the benefits. Whiting, including some large specimens have also become recently abundant. And both make fine table fare.
